Academic libraries are no strangers to diversity. Our doors are open to students, faculty, and staff from all over Utah and the world. Our shelves host billions of ideas, histories, discoveries, and stories. Our databases and online resources offer access to all the content our budgets allow. But open doors and broad access are only a starting point when it comes to truly welcoming and providing services for our diverse communities.
The 2024 keynote speaker will be Dr. Edeama Onwuchekwa Jonah of San Diego Mesa College. View her brief biography here.
At this year’s retreat, our presenters will share their experiences, open dialogues, ask provocative questions, and more, focusing on our theme “Belonging in Library Spaces.” The retreat will offer in-person and streaming access to sessions.
Resetting Expectations: The [Not So] Different Worlds of Urban and Rural Librarianship

Presentations will be recorded and made available after the retreat.
We will also include time and space for attendees to meet new colleagues from across Utah and catch up with friends and acquaintances.
