This year's UALC Professional Development retreat will focus on career management. The committee has created a conference style program resulting in a variety of offerings from which you can choose based on where you are in your career right now. For those who are just starting out programs like "How to Get Published" and "Interviewing From Both Sides of the Table" may be the most helpful. If you are further along in your career, "How to Be a Good Supervisor" and "Climbing the Ladder or Preparing for a Bigger Role" may be more what you are looking for. It is the hope of the UALC Professional Development committee members that we have created a program that will appeal to librarians in all areas of librarianship.
Over lunch, librarians in specific areas of the library can talk about their particular areas of interest (instruction, reference, technical services, systems).
Please register soon for the programs in which you are most interested, so we can make arrangements to repeat sessions, if necessary.
